when animation first started the films were really short compared to the ones today. the process used before was different compared to the process used today for example in the early days drawing was your only option you had to draw one picture take a picture of it or draw it in another paper. when you were done you had to pass through them fast and you had a film. but now in days we use a lot of technology not only that but we only draw the image once.

But the main thing they have in common is that in both ways you crate movement and you create your own character and give it life.
